The National Paintball league was founded in 2008 as the Indian Paintball League by Kiran Soans and the rechristening process happened in 2009 due to the similarity of its name being called IPL as the Indian Premier League Cricket which is also called the IPL .

The National paintball League is the Only Organization which promotes paintball in India in the right sense as a Sport , with Professionals Backing it has its presence across India in Cities like Bangalore, Chennai , Mumbai ,Pune , Shillong, Delhi & Hyderabad , it has held more than 20 odd tournaments in a Short Span of 2 years and made its mark in National and International Platforms.

NPL took its first 2 teams to the World Cup Asia 2009 held In Kuala Lumpur it fielded 2 teams 1 in Div 3 and the other in Div 4 , NPL ALL STARS INDIA  and NPL ALL STARS BANGALORE and also the NPL ALL STARS INDIA got the best from Nation trophy at the WCA 2009.

This Years Championship consists of 4 to 6 tournaments in each city in both Div’s 3 & 4 . Each time teams gain points through every tournament – Winners 12points, 2^nd place 10 points, and so on till the 8^th position. The overall winners at the end of the championship win a ticket to represent the city they play at and most importantly, they get to represent the country! The team would go to WCA 2010 as - NPL “team name” “city name” – eg: NPL IYD BANGALORE. The team would play in division 3 or 4 depending on the experience and their level of play. Apart from this, the best from all over the country will have a chance to represent the country as NPL ALL STARS INDIA which would be playing in Division 2 at WCA 2010. NPL will also have a Training camp with the every year in Oct in Bangalore with the Best players practising for a Period of 5 weeks as a preparation to the World Cup.
